Beyond Pool Cleaning fixes and replaces the equipment that keeps pools in Tempe running, including pumps and motors, filters, heaters, salt systems, valves, and the plumbing on the pad. A lot of that gear has been in service for a long time, and we help you decide what to repair and what to retire.
Call us if the pump screeches when it starts or will not start at all, if the motor shuts itself off after running a while, if air bubbles keep spitting from the return jets, if the filter tank is cracked or weeping at the seams, if the multiport valve leaks or will not hold a position, if the heater clicks but never lights, if the breaker for the pool keeps tripping, or if you see a puddle forming under the pad that was not there last month.
Repairs are performed under Arizona ROC license 365989 by our crew out of the East Gray Road shop in the Scottsdale Airpark, working in partnership with Nevergreen Pools. To get a technician out to look at it, give us a call or send the form on this page.
We do not start by replacing the part you suspect. The technician looks at how the entire system is behaving: power at the motor, suction and pressure on each side of the pump, the condition of the filter, the valves and their positions, and the plumbing for signs of air or water where it should not be. Older pads often have a mix of parts from different decades, so we confirm what is actually there and how it is plumbed before deciding on anything.
You receive a written quote before any work begins. On equipment that is twenty or thirty years old, the honest answer is sometimes that a repair will not last, and paying for it only delays a bigger bill. We will tell you when that is the case, and we will also tell you when a simple fix is all you need. Rental owners get a clear breakdown they can weigh against the property budget. After the repair, the same crew checks back to make sure the system is holding.
Local conditions are hard on equipment here. Most homes went up between the 1960s and the 1980s, and many pads still run single speed pumps with sand or DE filters that are near the end of their life. Skimmers and main drains are often original. Very hard city water scales heaters and salt cells, and summer temperatures of 105 to 115 push pumps to run long hours. Monsoon storms from July through September load pools with fine dirt, and the trees common in older yards keep baskets full year round, which puts extra strain on circulation. Rental pools that sit unattended can hide a failing part until the water gives it away.
Repair and replacement work covers:
A properly repaired pad means water that circulates and filters the way it should, a heater that lights when you want it, and sanitizer that keeps up with the heat. It also means fewer surprises. When the system has been gone over as a whole, you know which parts have years left and which ones to budget for, instead of finding out one breakdown at a time.
Delaying a repair usually costs more. An old pump that is grinding often has failing bearings, and if it seizes, the motor and sometimes the impeller housing go with it. A filter tank with a hairline crack can split under pressure. Air leaks on the suction side make the pump run dry, which damages the seal and lets water reach the motor. When equipment fails in summer, the pool can be green within a few days, and the cleanup gets added to the repair bill.
Replacement can also pay for itself. Swapping an aging single speed pump for a variable speed model usually cuts the power used for circulation by a large margin, and moving off a worn out filter can mean clearer water with less chlorine. When it makes sense, we show you the numbers and let you decide. Rental owners often find that newer, simpler equipment means fewer calls from tenants as well.
Each job is documented with what we found, what we replaced, and what to keep an eye on, so you have a history of the equipment for future decisions or a sale.
