Service & schedule

How service days work, what to expect on a normal week, and what to do when something changes.

How often do you come out for weekly service?

Standard residential service is once a week, on the same day of the week, serviced by a consistent, well-trained team. Most Scottsdale-area pools sit in direct desert sun for nine months out of the year, and weekly is the cadence that keeps chemistry stable and equipment running clean.

For high-use pools, vacation rentals, or pools with very heavy bather load in the summer, we also offer twice-weekly service — common across Old Town and Paradise Valley rentals during peak season.

Do I need to be home during service?

No. The vast majority of our customers are not home during service. You only need to:

  • Provide unobstructed gate access (a code, a key safe, or an unlocked gate on service day).
  • Secure any pets during the visit.
  • Make sure the equipment pad is reachable.

You'll get a photo report after every visit so you always know exactly what happened.

What happens if my service day falls on a holiday?

We communicate the holiday schedule in advance and adjust your route day proactively. You'll get a heads-up before the holiday week — usually a quick text or email — telling you what day to expect us instead. Holidays never get skipped quietly.

What if it's raining or there's a monsoon storm?

Light rain doesn't change service — chemistry still needs to be tested, the equipment still needs to be inspected, and brushing still needs to happen. We adjust the routine if needed.

We generally keep your regular service day even during monsoon weeks rather than shifting it around. During active lightning, our metal poles stay in the vehicle for safety, but the visit still happens: we clear the baskets, balance the chemistry so the pump can recover the pool, and keep things on track. If a major storm leaves your pool needing extra attention, we'll offer an additional visit — and let you know the cost before any extra work is done.

Will I have the same service day each week?

Yes. Your service day stays consistent from week to week — that's a commitment we keep. Routes are built around consistency, so your pool is handled by a small, well-trained team that gets to know it well. The specific technician on any given week can change due to vacations, sick days, or routing, but the standard, the documentation, and your service day stay the same.

How much does weekly pool service cost in Scottsdale?

Weekly pool service in the Scottsdale area generally runs in line with the local market rate, with the exact number depending on pool size, equipment configuration, chemical demand, and whether the visit includes chemistry-only or full clean.

The honest answer is: we don't quote sight-unseen on the website because every pool is different. Call (480) 637-4467 or request a quote and we'll give you a real number — usually same day — with no padded packages and no monthly-fee math.

Are pool chemicals included in the weekly service price?

No — pool chemicals are not included in the monthly service rate; they're billed separately based on what your pool actually uses. Your recurring fee covers the service visit and labor, while chlorine, pH and alkalinity adjusters, stabilizer, and any other chemicals are billed on top of that.

Larger or specialty treatments — a heavy stain treatment, a phosphate remover dump, or a major shock for an algae event — are quoted and communicated to you before the work happens, so there's never a surprise on the invoice.

How am I billed?

Recurring service is billed monthly in advance. One-time work, repairs, and equipment installs are invoiced when the job is complete. We accept credit card and ACH/electronic transfer.

What happens if I cancel?

Either party can cancel recurring service with 14 days' written notice. Any prepaid amount for unused service days within the cancellation window is refunded on a prorated basis.

What documentation you'll actually receive — and why customers say it's the thing that sets us apart.

Do you really send a photo report after every visit?

Yes — and it's the single thing customers mention most. Before our truck leaves your driveway, you get an email that includes:

  • Water-condition photos (tile line, surface, equipment pad).
  • The full chemistry reading — free chlorine, total chlorine, pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid.
  • The chemicals dosed at that visit, and how much.
  • Any equipment notes the technician spotted on the pad.

You can scroll past it satisfied, forward it to a guest, or save it as documentation. Your call.

What does the onboarding process look like for a new customer?

Three quick steps:

  • Quote. Tell us your address, pool size, and what kind of service you need. We give you a real number, usually same day.
  • Walkthrough. Before your first weekly visit, we do a full equipment walkthrough — pump, filter, heater, automation, plumbing — and note any pre-existing issues in writing so we're both on the same page.
  • Service day. You get your assigned service day, your technician shows up, and the first photo report hits your inbox the same afternoon.
What if I don't like what I see in a photo report?

Call or text. Seriously. The whole point of sending the report is to make problems visible — water clarity drifting, a chemistry reading you don't recognize, equipment that doesn't look right. Reply to the email, call (480) 637-4467, and we'll respond. We'd rather hear about a small concern early than discover a big problem at the next visit.

Repairs & equipment

Yes, we do repairs — properly licensed and quoted before the wrench comes out.

Are you licensed for pool equipment repairs in Arizona?

Yes — Beyond Pool Cleaning is a licensed Arizona pool contractor (Arizona ROC 365989). That means equipment quotes, repairs, and installations are completed in-house by the same team that maintains your pool, not subcontracted to a third party.

What equipment brands do you work on?

All the major brands you'll find on Scottsdale-area equipment pads — Pentair, Jandy, Hayward, Raypak, and others. We service pumps (single-speed and variable-speed), filters (cartridge, DE, sand), gas heaters, salt cells, automation controllers (Pentair IntelliCenter, Jandy iAquaLink, Hayward Omni), valves, and plumbing.

Will you tell me before doing a repair?

Anything $75 or more gets a written estimate and your approval before we touch a wrench — no surprise invoices. Minor parts and fixes under $75 we'll just take care of during the visit to keep things moving.

If a technician spots something during a weekly visit — say, a pump bearing starting to whine or a heater pressure switch tripping — you'll get a note in the photo report and a follow-up with a real estimate.

Do you handle equipment installation, or just repair?

Both. Pump swaps, gas heater installs, salt-cell replacements, full automation upgrades, valve and plumbing rebuilds, and complete equipment-pad overhauls are all in-scope. If you're selling the home and need a safety inspection, we do those too.

Vacation rentals — Airbnb & Vrbo

Short-term rental pool service in Scottsdale is a different animal. We built our program around it.

Do you service Airbnb and Vrbo properties?

Yes — vacation rentals are a core part of our business across Old Town, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and Arcadia. The Scottsdale market runs on five-star reviews, and we built the rental program around that reality: predictable scheduling, fast response to guest issues, photo proof of guest-ready pools.

How often should a vacation rental pool be serviced?

It depends on bather load and season. Most peak-season Scottsdale rentals need twice-weekly service to keep up with heavy use, sunscreen and lotion in the water, and party crowds. Spring and fall many rentals drop back to weekly. We'll recommend a cadence after seeing the property.

Can you coordinate around check-ins and check-outs?

Yes. We coordinate with your cleaner, your handyman, and your property manager directly. Most rental owners want the pool serviced after the turnover cleaner has left and before the next guest checks in. We'll build the schedule around that — and adjust when peak weekends create unusual turnover windows.

What if a guest complains about the pool during their stay?

Call our main line. We prioritize guest-impacting issues for rental customers — that's the whole point of the program. Common mid-stay calls are cloudy water after a heavy bachelorette weekend, a heater that won't fire, or a stuck spillover valve. We'll get someone out as quickly as the route allows.

Green-to-clean recovery

Pools turn green. Sometimes spectacularly. Here's how we bring them back.

My pool is completely green. Can you bring it back?

Almost always, yes — assuming the underlying equipment isn't completely dead and the plaster isn't badly damaged. A green pool is usually the result of one of three things: a failed pump, a failed heater that triggered chemistry chaos, or a service that fell off the route. We'll inspect, identify the root cause, and start the recovery sequence the same day if we can.

How long does a green-to-clean take?

Most full recoveries take three to seven days, depending on severity, water volume, filter condition, and how cooperative the equipment is. We start with a complete equipment check (because algae often masks an existing equipment problem), clean and prime the filter, then begin the chemistry-driven kill and clear cycle.

You'll get daily photo updates until the water is back to crystal-clear and on a stable maintenance program.

What does a green-to-clean recovery cost?

It varies — water volume, severity, filter condition, and whether equipment repair is needed are all factors. We give a written estimate after the initial inspection, before we start. No surprise invoices at the end.
